We are pleased to inform you that we have decided to suspend the development of Alis Linux/GNU/X indefinitely.
This is due to the fact that the Linux/GNU/X department of Nakamura Musical Industries (NMI) is unprofitable, Arch Linux, which is upstream, is a rolling release and it is difficult to track down problems, and the fact that the chief, Asanami, is handling alone the work of NMI and is extremely busy with his studies.
The common Arch updates will continue to be applied, but future use is expected to pose a security risk as Alis-specific bug fixes and new functionality will no longer be provided. We recommend that you migrate to other Linux/GNU/X, such as Arch or Kamuriki Linux, as soon as possible.
Development of Kamuriki Linux will continue and version 4 will be released around 2025.
We would like to apologise to all supporters of Alis and its predecessor Univalent for the above. Thank you for your love and support of Alis.
